Noosa businesses receive national recognition | |
Congratulations to two local Noosa businesses for receiving national recognition for their innovations:
Fireball.International based at the Peregian Digital Hub was awarded $500,000 from the Aus Gov's The Entrepreneurs’ Programme Accelerating Commercialisation grant. Fireball.International will use its funding to help commercialise its innovation that can warn authorities and emergency services in as little as 3 minutes about the start of a wildfire. Learn more
Helitak Firefighting Equipment was announced winner of the Disaster & Emergency category of the Australian Technology Awards in October for their innovative next generation Aerial Fire Suppression Systems for Helicopters. Learn more | |

The Sunshine Coast Screen Collective is in the running for a grant from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Pitch: Isolation initiative. Their psychological thriller script, Two Hours From is one of 20 finalists and if they win, they'll get $10,000 towards this local production. Show your support and enthusiasm for our screen industry and help bring Two Hours From to the big screen by liking their Facebook page.

Building Better Regions Fund Opening Soon This program provides funding for new infrastructure and community projects for non-profits including Chambers. Learn more about the BBRF.
| Cyber Security Business Connect and Protect This program by the Aus Gov provides funds for organisations who provide business advisory services to SMEs to raise awareness and promote actions to address cyber security risks. Closes 30 Nov
| New Business Assistance with NEIS The Federal Government's New Business Assistance scheme has been revamped to help new and existing micro business owners impacted by COVID-19. NEIS provides small business training, mentoring and assistance in developing a business plan.
| | Covid-19 International Tourism Adaptation Grant This funding boost aims to support regional Queensland tourism businesses that have suffered losses of income because of the international travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. View Grant
| Social and Community Participation Grant The Australian Government is inviting applications from organisations for grant funding for 12-month projects that help enable the participation of people with disability in community life – particularly in arts, culture, sport and recreation. Closes 8 Dec

Business Roundtable
The Business Roundtable acts as a conduit of communication between our business community, Local Chambers and council. The Group met in October to discuss current business conditions and environment, as well as the Local Economic Plan.

Council’s Events Policy which looked to manage large scale events in Noosa during the COVID pandemic will now be reviewed in early December.
